Get a Medical Tattoo in Case You Are In an Accident

Sometimes, we see people with tattoos who are misunderstood by the rest of society, especially those who don't have one or more. In many cases this is nothing more than a sign of individuality, and proof that the person is alive. Tattoos of course can mean many things, most of all they mean something to the individual. Sometimes they are a sign of military service, personal conviction, or proof of membership of a group, ideal, or underlining principle. They are made to make a statement, and they often do.
Okay so let's talk about this shall we? You see, I've just been enlightens by a new trend, and a new application for tattoos. There was an interesting article recently in Homeland Security Online News recently titled; "Medical tattoos - a growing trend," which was published on March 20, 2012 which stated;
"Forget medical bracelets, a growing number of individuals with special medical needs have taken to tattooing their bodies to warn first responders about critical medical conditions; medical bracelets commonly list a person's allergies, chronic diseases, and end-of-life wishes, but more and more people have started tattooing that information on their bodies."
Well, this certainly makes sense doesn't it? If you are working around machinery, you probably don't want to wear a bracelet with your medical condition on it, because it might catch in the equipment and cause you bodily harm, and thus, that jewelry you are wearing or medical bracelet in so doing exactly the opposite of what it was intended to do. If you have a permanent medical condition, perhaps a permanent tattoo isn't such a bad idea in case something happens to you, you become incapacitated, and the first responders on the scene have something to alert them of your medical issue.
By having this information they will make fewer mistakes, and get to the bottom of the medical challenge you are dealing with, therefore it will save your life. The reason I believe this article appeared in Homeland Security News was to remind first responders that more and more people are getting these medical tattoos, so if you see a person with a tattoo on their arm, you may want to glance down and see if it is there for a medical purpose or not - without any of your stereotypical pre-judgment.
Imagine the number of people who might be saved by these new types of tattoos, and what an ingenious application this is for the tattoo sector. It means more business for tattoo parlors, and more vital and pertinent information when it is completely paramount to the safety and welfare of an individual that has a medical challenge. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
